Role Overview:
As the Keeper of Governance & Compliance, a Genesis Founder, you will be responsible for shaping and maintaining SagaHalla’s governance structure while ensuring strict adherence to cooperative principles and regulatory compliance. This role focuses on developing the cooperative’s bylaws, maintaining transparency, and building the framework for fair governance and decision-making processes. As a membership opportunity, this role is not a traditional employment position, but a foundational membership responsibility that helps define and protect SagaHalla's core values.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement the governance framework that ensures compliance with cooperative laws, bylaws, and decentralized governance best practices.
- Develop and maintain cooperative bylaws, policies, and procedures to uphold member rights and promote transparent decision-making.
- Ensure that all cooperative activities adhere to regulatory requirements, particularly with respect to decentralized governance and blockchain-based systems.
- Collaborate with other Genesis Founders to ensure that governance, compliance, and legal requirements are integrated into all cooperative projects and operations.
- Oversee the governance token structure, voting rights, and decision-making processes to ensure fair and equitable member participation.
- Monitor emerging regulations in blockchain, cryptocurrency, and cooperative governance to ensure compliance and proactive risk management.
- Facilitate member engagement in governance processes, including voting, decision-making, and policy updates.
- Establish transparent reporting and audit mechanisms to track governance activities and ensure accountability within the cooperative.
What We’re Looking For:
- Expertise in governance, compliance, or legal frameworks with a focus on cooperatives or decentralized organizations.
- Proven experience in designing and managing governance systems for community-driven or blockchain-based organizations.
- Deep understanding of cooperative principles, bylaws, and regulatory compliance.
- Strong knowledge of blockchain governance models, token-based voting, and decentralized decision-making systems.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to develop legal and governance policies that align with the cooperative's mission.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills to engage members and facilitate transparent governance processes.
